Pro-NFL Baller, Connor McGovern Joins DRVN Labo!

We are extremely excited to announce that we at DRVN Labo have brought on our first significant investor, and a valuable advisor and advocate for the brand, Connor McGovern.

Connor is a seasoned professional offensive lineman in the NFL who was originally drafted to the Denver Broncos in 2016, where he played until he was picked up for a three-year contract with the New York Jets in 2020.

Connor is also a massive JDM car enthusiast with an impressive collection including an R34 GT-R Vspec II Nür and R34 track car, a Nismo R35, and an RWB Porsche 911, to name a few. He aspires to pursue a career as a professional race car driver upon retiring from the NFL. A pursuit we will certainly support.

Not only does he bring with him his passion for the collector car asset-class, he also brings a deep well of connections and relationships in the automotive aftermarket industry.

Further, Connor is keenly aware of the opportunity that blockchain and tokenization will play in the future, making him a perfect partner to help us take DRVN Labo all the way to the end-zone. (see what I did there?)

We look forward to having him on as an advisor, connector, and friend. And you better believe we will be featuring his mind-blowing car collection in future content.

We have some amazing plans for this car including:

As of July 22nd Racino opened their race mode where players can earn USDC prizes.

It’s extremely easy to sign up, snag a trial car, and enter a race. Once you’re in, all you need to do is purchase tickets, which are your entry to the Prize Money Races.

Players can use their free Trial car, or any vehicle purchased during their Championship Trailer mint in this algorithmic race management game. With multiple races every hour, there are plenty of opportunities to jump in, tune your car to the specific track conditions, and go head-to-head against other contenders.

More Motorverse Deep Dives and Alpha

Here’s the latest from the reigning king of digital vehicle culture.

The Motorverse recently posted about a new Digital Driving License for use across the Motorverse ecosystem. I can only speculate what purpose it will serve, as details are still very scarce.

My theory is that it is like the Moca ID. A user profile key that will unlock access to the ever-expanding automotive metaverse being developed by Animoca Brands.

Doing his usual rounds of PR for the Motorverse, this article features an interview with TM General Manager, Will Griffiths, and is probably the most comprehensive overview of the onchain automotive ecosystem they are building I have read to date.

New Celeros Partnership & Opportunity to Become an IRL Airspeeder Pilot

MON Protocol is a highly anticipated web3 game that has set a standard for pre-launch community engagement. Now, they are leveraging that community to boost Celeros via a sponsorship of their TXR Challenge.

The full details of the partnership have not yet been released, but it is possible that MON Protocol will contribute assets to participants of the TXR Challenge. (More details on that below)

Join the Academy for a chance to become a real airspeeder pilot

While Celeros has allowed access to their academy for some time, it appears they have recently begun to call more attention to it. This could imply that something may be nearing.

What is the Celeros Academy? Think of it like the movie “The Last Starfighter” but for flying racecars. If you are too young to understand that reference, the skinny is, they will be selecting some of the top players to have the opportunity to race Airspeeders in real life.

If you have the cajones, you can apply now by going to the academy signup page, learning about the IRL airspeeders and taking a quiz. Once you complete that you will earn a badge and be on standby for the next steps.

I don’t know about you but I AM ALL OVER THIS!!! I would kill (in minecraft) for a chance to climb into the cockpit of an airspeeder and take it for a spin. If I am to be so lucky, expect me to document every step of the experience.
