3 JDM gems on BaT + Torque Drift 2 tuning guide + Schumacher’s Ferrari up for auction!

If you’ve got your eye on a new ride or just love dreaming about rare cars, this edition has you covered.

From three epic JDM classics currently up for grabs on BaT, to the latest Torque Drift 2 tuning tips, there’s something for every enthusiast.

Oh, and did we mention a $10M Ferrari driven by Michael Schumacher? You’d be insane to drive it, but you can certainly dream about it.

Let’s rip!

3 of the best JDM cars currently available on BaT

Got some dollars burning a hole in your pocket, an empty spot in your garage, and a wife with literally ZERO unchecked boxes on her honey-do list for the next year?

We’ve found 3 Japanese classic on Bring a Trailer that will satisfy just about any taste and budget.

(Plus, we’ve thrown in a bonus Italian legend that you can buy at the end of the newsletter… Should you happen to be a Saudi oil tycoon.)

First up is a 77K mile first-gen WRX STi currently sitting at a bid of $2,269 as of the time of writing. But You should expect this price to at least 10x when the auction ends in 7 days.

Next is the classic Z that put Datsun on the sportscar map. It’s always great to see a vehicle like this that’s been highly modified to maximize the platform while maintaining the original spirit of the car.

Rather than some dime-a-dozen LS swap, the owner of this Z opted for the 2.8L straight six turbo from an 83 280ZX, and scaled up the snail to a hefty GT2860 RS unit.

As nice as that is, it’s the attention to detail that makes this car stand out. Bidding is at $20k with 7 days left. My guess, this Datsun pulls an easy $40k.

Last in our JDM lineup is easily one of the sexiest cars to come from the Japanese isles. Whereas our last car was customized to the hilt, this FD3S RX-7 is pure unadulterated museum-quality gold.

With 8K on the odo, there is likely very few FD’s in existence in this condition.

Less than 2 days remain to bid on this beauty, with a standing price of $51,500. But I would put money on it that this closes out nearing $70K.

Torque Drift 2 Tuning Guide Part 4—Wheels, Tires, and Differentials

Those JDM listings get you all fired up, but all you have in your budget is lunch-money? Torque Drift 2 will always scratch that itch no matter how much you have to spend on your build.

The key is, setting up your ride for success. In their latest tech-tut, Torque Drift 2 provides a quick lesson on setting up the wheels, tires and differential to optimize your ride slide.

The best part is, the cars you build are 100% your property, and can be resold just like their physical counterparts listed above… Thanks to the marvels of blockchain technology.

(Yes, Mr. Naysayer, NFTs can actually serve a purpose beyond jpgs. Your right-click save-as argument don’t work here, Buster.)

The $10M Ferrari you can buy, but you dare not drive!

We promised an Italian legend, and we delivered. The only problem is, you’ll have to out-bid billionaires to even have a shot at this piece of motorsport history.

RM Sotheby’s recently listed Michael Schumacher’s 2006 season Ferrari 248 F1 car, and it’s expected to fetch north of 10 million bucks!

Too rich for you blood? (Yeah, me too)

The rest of us will have to settle for a V8 era F1 car in Assetto Corsa.

But…

Imagine if you will, a company that crowd funds the acquisition of such historical relics like this. Only, the contributors actually own a share of said vehicle.

Well, you don’t have to! That’s what we’re building with DRVN/VHCLS! And you can bet your britches we will one day have an honest to goodness F1 car in our collection.

For now, you’ll have to settle for Paul Walker’s Ferrari 360 Modena.
