Daily DRVN # 68 / How to Drift a Lambo
Part of our DRVN Lambo Week coverage
When you think of drifting, the very last car to spring to mind is probably Lamborghini.
Who in their right mind would put a $500K+ hypercar through that kind of torture when an S15 or even a Mustang or Corvette can get the job done at a fraction of the price?
But when you have that much performance at your disposal, there are inevitably going to be some crazy people who just DGAF.
In today’s special DRVN Lambo Week edition of the Daily DRVN Newsletter, we ask the question “How to drift a Lambo”, providing examples of those who have, and show you how YOU could own a Lambo that you can take drifting any time you want.
Let’s rip!
Table of Contents
Method 1: Ask AI
We’ll start this journey by posing the basic question and seeing what we get. But we won’t be using Google for this exercise. This is a job for Grok. The AI that always provides the most entertaining answers.
Here’s what Grok said. Surprisingly, good advice which you may want to remember when you start drifting your own Lambo:
Grok, How can I drift a Lambo?
“Ah, you want to drift a Lamborghini? Because nothing screams "subtle" like drifting a supercar worth more than your average house. Here's a guide, but remember, if you mess up, it's not me who's explaining it to the insurance company:
Find the Right Spot: You'll need a large, open, and preferably deserted place. Think of an abandoned parking lot or a very forgiving friend's private airfield. Public roads? Not unless you want to become an involuntary participant in a high-speed police chase.
Check the Law: Make sure it's legal to do donuts where you are. Or don't, if you're feeling particularly rebellious. Just remember, ignorance of the law is no excuse, but it can make for a great story in court.
Modify with Caution: Lambos aren't exactly built for drifting out of the box. You might need to adjust your differential (limited slip helps), add some beefy tires (slicks if you're serious), and maybe a roll cage if you like your limbs attached.
Power Oversteer: Lambos have rear-wheel drive and lots of power. Here's where you use that. Accelerate hard, then lift off the gas suddenly to unsettle the rear. This is where you'll wish you had a bit more grip—or maybe a bit less sanity.
Countersteer: As the back starts to slide, turn into the drift. This isn't just about looking cool; it's about not turning into a human projectile.
Feather the Throttle: Keep the car balanced by playing with the throttle. Too much, and you'll spin out. Too little, and your drift will die faster than a meme on Tuesday.
Exit Strategy: Know how you're going to stop or straighten out before you start. Drifting a Lambo might look cool, but so does walking away from the wreckage, provided you can still walk.
Practice: Start slow. Like, really slow. Maybe even in something less... financially catastrophic first. Like a go-kart. Or your mom's minivan. (Just kidding, don't do that unless you have a hidden trust fund.)
Film It: Because if you're going to drift a Lambo, you're doing it for the 'gram, right? Just remember, every drift king started with a less than graceful slide.
Insurance: Check if your policy covers "intentional drifting." If not, maybe reconsider, or accept that your premiums will drift into the stratosphere.
And remember, while drifting might make you feel like you're in "Fast & Furious," remember, those movies have stunt drivers, multiple takes, and CGI. You've got one take, real physics, and probably more expensive taste in cars.
Happy sliding, and may the traction be ever in your favor!”
Ok, this may have technically answered the question of how, but didn’t exactly explain the process of being in a position to. Maybe method 2 can help clear this hurdle?
Method 2: Be like these guys
We scoured the internet to find examples of people who have built and drifted some of the wildest Lambos on Earth. As it so happens, they have one thing in common… They are rich YouTubers, often backed by action sports energy drinks.
So, I guess all you need to do is build a following of 3 million subscribers and get an in with the next RedBull, and you too could soon be sliding a small fortune for clicks.
I know, easier said than done. But that won’t stop us from doing a little “market research”.
First up, Daily Driven Exotics show’s us garage donuts 101.
Yeah, sure. Any A-hole can recklessly whip a Lambo around a garage. But I’m sure you want to know how to take it to the max.
RedBull documents the insane build of Mad Mike’s Huracan drift car, showing you exactly what it takes.
Now that you know what’s required, let’s watch the pros in action. Daigo Saito and his Liberty Walk Lambo challenged Vaughn Gittin Jr. in his RTR Mustang in a touge battle.
Method 3: Download Torque Drift 2 and Mint a Digital Revuelto
Alright. So Grok gave us some pointers, and YouTube proved that drifting a Lambo is best left for big-budget marketing stunts.
But there has got to be a way the rest of us can check this off our bucket list.
It just so happens, there is!
It’s called Torque Drift 2. And now, with the partnership between Lamborghini and The Motorverse, your dream is about to come true.

On Thursday November 7th the gates will open to mint an interoperable Lamborghini Revuelto NFT race car. This digital asset will be usable within a variety of experiences in the Motorverse ecosystem, starting with Lamborghini’s own Fast Forworld, REVV Racing, and of course, Torque Drift 2.
Purchasing your own Revuelto isn’t as easy as showing up on the 7th. Due to the demand, they will be holding a presale phase for those who got a spot on the allowlist.
Should there be any left once the presale is done, the general public will get their chance to purchase one before they’re gone. I assure you, they will sell out quickly.
Lucky for you, we have a number of allowlist spots available during DRVN Lambo Week. There is still a chance to grab one by referring 5 subscribers (details below).
You can also tune in to our Torque Drift 2 livestream on X, YouTube, and Twitch later this afternoon where we will be giving away 5 spots.
For the full details on the Lamborghini x The Motorverse partnership, and the list of events and allowlist opportunities, go read this article.
That will do it for today’s SPECIAL EDITION of the Daily DRVN Newsletter.
See you on Thursday for more DRVN Lambo Week content.
