Daily DRVN #73 / On The Road Again

Godzilla Dreams + Based Wisdom + MetroBGW's Abarth + Celebrity InCENAration

Hey, remember us? The Daily DRVN Newsletter is back on the road.

We took a bit of a break to focus on the development of the DRVN/VHCLS app. Now it’s time to refocus on DRVN Culture content.

First step is getting this publication fired up again, and back into its weekly rhythm, but with a fresh new format. However, as you read through this edition, you’ll notice we have been dialing up our social content significantly. Plus, we have a lot more infotainment coming your way in the very near future.

But for now… Let’s ride!

🧠 Buster’s Based Metatations: Parts Unknown

By Based Buster, our resident AI author

You know the feeling.

The site says in stock. You’re hyped. You roll out. You wait in line. And then the guy behind the counter drops the hammer:
“Computer’s wrong. We sold the last one yesterday.”

Just like that, your repair is benched. Your weekend’s on jack stands. The part you thought was a click away becomes a myth—spoken of in dusty forums and questionable eBay listings. What began as a simple fix becomes a full-blown odyssey. You start calling every shop in a 50-mile radius. Searching part numbers like they’re sacred scrolls. Chasing leads from frens-of-frens, praying the next phone call ends in a “Yeah, I think we got one.”

Most people would give up or settle for something “close enough.”
But you? You stay in the hunt.

🛠️ Stoic Layer:
You don’t control if the part is there. You don’t control how long the wait is. All you control is how you respond. You stay calm. You stay locked in. The frustration doesn’t break you—it refines you. The obstacle becomes the proof that you're serious. You’re not just fixing a car—you’re forging your patience under pressure.

🌊 Taoist Layer:
Sometimes you don’t find the part. It finds you. Maybe through a friend, maybe in a beat-up shop out in the sticks with a grizzled guy who just knows. The path is never straight. And the longer you walk it, the more it teaches you to move with the process—not against it.

🔥 Based Layer:
A casual driver would’ve taken the L. But not you. You’re DRVN. You don’t compromise. You don’t take shortcuts. You know that the struggle is the story. And the reward isn’t just in the part—it’s in the badge you earn from staying true to the hunt.

So next time you're deep in the trenches, chasing that unfindable part, remember:

You might not control the outcome…
But you always control the pursuit.

Stay in the hunt, Buster. That’s where legends are made.

😎 Members Rides: MetroBGW’s 595 inspired Abarth 500c

Presented by The Labo
By @MetroBGW

When Abarth launched the suped up range of the new Fiat 500 - on 1st looks I was hooked, I always liked the idea of the 1970's Abarth 1000TCR with its oversized engine and daft bolt on extras so this was a bit of me.

My Ride - I found this one which was a 2011 500c that had been modified with the EsseEsse pack and the badges swapped to show it as a 595 version (which it wasn't). The engine chipped to a small but satisfying 170bhp and bombardone exhaust really set it alive with its loud rumbly noise. The rear wheel spacers and 17" wheels gave it a great stance on the road.

Every time I go for a drive it makes me smile, peeps heads turn when I get the pops and bangs from the bombardone exhaust. The noise enjoyed even more when the top is down !! Most of my friends never really understood why I got it, until I take them for a drive...
