Daily DRVN #8

Thanksgiving it our all...

The holiday season is upon us, but we’re just getting the tires warmed up.

Happy Black Friday! We hope you had a Thanksgiving day that was stuffed full of family, fun, and food! On the topic of giving thanks, we want to thank our readers and subscribers for showing up early and being part of the DRVN culture caravan. With only a few weeks under our belt we’ve put out some good content and started to hone in on our newsletter strategy. While the aim is to publish a newsletter Monday through Friday, we have to make sure we have an efficient process to deliver quality posts. So if you’re wondering why Daily DRVN hasn’t quite been, well, daily, here’s the answer.

Think about it this way. We’re in FP1 (Free Practice 1 for the non-F1 fans). We’ve completed a few laps, now we’ve brought the car into the garage to make a few adjustments. The next out-laps should be better, but there will inevitably be more tweaking to be done. As part of our crew, your feedback will help us get up to speed even quicker. Have some suggestions? Subscribers can reply to this email, and web readers can email [email protected].

Thanks again! Now go get yourself something nice. I hear there is a sale going on today.

Today’s Top Headlines

Trending news and articles from the automotive world

Among my list of things to be thankful for, an upcoming comedy featuring Guenther Steiner is right there at the top.

Even wonder how iconic F1 drivers of various era’s would stack up against one another? Michelob ULTRA (surprisingly enough) produced a 1 hour special in which they re-create the driving habits of icons like Mario Andretti, Jacques Villeneuve and Jenson Button, using artificial intelligence to study thousands of hours of race footage and historical data. This will certainly be worth a watch.

If you’re a fan of big, fast, luxurious German touring cars wagons, Porsche has some good news and some bad news.

Videos you shouldn’t miss

Have you ever been stung by a bee, and then for years after every sound of buzzing has you ducking and weaving like there’s an active drive-by? Now, Imagine if you were stung by a supercar disintegrating around you at ridiculous speeds. Would you be buzzing to take it for another spin? Richard Hammond may be small, but he’s got cajones big enough that they’ll need buckled in the passenger seat, as he revisits the car that nearly killed him.

The Drip

Automotive lifestyle brands

We’re not talking about your oil leak (you should really look into that). “Drip” is gen-z slang for fashion or clothing. There is a lot of great automotive lifestyle drip out there. Here’s one brand that recently caught my eye. Donut.

Our favorite automotive YouTube channel and t-shirt purveyor has a sweet Black Friday deal going on today. 25% off of everything! So we thought we would show them some love.

For Sale Gawking

Amazing finds you wish you could afford

We promise we’ll find cars from other places than Bring a Trailer. But they always have such great finds. This collection of red beauties has a little something for everyone. A classic Italian race car. An under-appreciated pocket-rocket legend, and some ‘merican muscle.

Motorsport Meme of the Day

Do not try this in a closed garage.
