The DRVN/VHCLS Proof-of-Concept App Demo is Here

We at DRVN Labo have been hard at work over the past few weeks. On May 1st we started our journey with the Backdrop Build accelerator program. A 4-week sprint to launch a new software project.

Our submission: A proof-of-concept app for the DRVN/VHCLS RWA platform.

As I write this, the program is coming to a close and I am proud to say that we were able to deliver the goods, completing Backdrop’s 4th accelerator cohort.

What’s more, you can test out the app yourself by following the instructions below!

Here is the tech stack used to develop the app. Solutions market with an asterisk (*) are partners with Backdrop Build.

• Built in React-Native using the Draftbit* platform

• Supabase for the database

• Buildship* for the logic layer

• Moralis for on-chain data

• Wagmi react library for smart contract interactions

• Privy* for user auth and wallet creation/linking

• And we selected Base* as our home blockchain network

The purpose of the app is to offer a simple mobile experience for anyone, even those who are new to web3 to collect fractional shares of rare investment vehicles, as well as participate in the DRVN DAO by purchasing our $BSTR governmeme token directly in-app.

Of course, there is way more to DRVN/VHCLS than that. But that’s a conversation for another time.

For the first PoC release we developed the primary UI, connected it with the database, and integrated basic blockchain data queries.

We had intended to get the user authentication and wallet handling functionality live at the time of release as well. However, we discovered late in the game that a specific dependency to run the Privy SDK in React-Native was not yet available from Privy.

So, this v0.1.0 test version does not require users to create an account, login, or create/connect a wallet. You can just jump right in and have a look around.

Completing the Privy integration is our top priority, which we hope to have resolved in the coming days, as we just got access to the prerequisite plugin.

Ready to Take the DRVN/VHCLS App for a Test Drive?

Alright, now for the fun part. Playing crash test dummy!

The app will load and you will enter on the splash screen where you can choose to create an account or sign in. Select either option then go ahead and click “Sign Up” or “Sign in” respectively. No login is needed at this time.

Future updates will require installing an APK to test the full functionality. However, we will also be releasing a web app version in the near future for anyone to use via a browser.

What’s Next?

As mentioned above, enabling users to create and log into their account, as well as generate and/or link external wallets is the next thing on our list. But here is what else to look forward to as we work towards v1.0.

• We will be making the Coinbase Smart Wallet the default wallet to optimize UX

• Full account abstract, removing any need to know web3 concepts to use the app. This includes zero gas fees and batched contract calls

• The ability to fund your wallet and buy $BSTR directly in-app

• The ability to earn more $BSTR and multiply your holdings via LP staking

• Integration of DRVN Culture articles and video content directly into the app

• And of course, we will be launching the sale of fractional shares for our very first tokenized car! Keep in mind that $BSTR holder will get pre-sale access to all vehicle sales
